Luna put on her bravest face for her visit to have a bladder stone removed. The sizeable stone measured roughly the size of a 10 cent piece! We're happy to report the procedure went well, and Luna has returned home to recover with her family.
There are many factors which predispose a pet to develop bladder stones, including stress, urinary infection, diet and genetic disorders. Common signs your pet may be suffering from stones include blood in the urine and straining to urinate. Larger stones can cause a complete bladder obstruction, putting your pet at risk of life-threatening infection or rupture. If you notice any of the above signs in your pet please seek immediate veterinary treatment.
